Large Lidded Jar

This handmade lidded ceramic jar is as functional as it is beautiful, designed to live openly on a countertop, shelf, or table as part of your everyday home decor.

This piece is handcrafted from stoneware clay, the interior and rim of the lid are glazed a bright grasshopper green, with the exterior left unglazed to highlight the natural texture and warmth on the clay body, with flashes of browns, reds, and orange hues as a result of the wood firing where flame and ash mark each piece throughout a 4-day firing process.

The added texture (a design technique called "chattering") on the shoulder of the pot is meant to highlight the flashes from the wood flame, and a smooth lower body of the pot for contrast.

Food safe and versatile, it can be used to store candies, as a vase, or, as I imagined it, a reed oil diffuser jar. Whatever function it serves in your home, even if purely decorative, it'll add that bit of warmth that we all need in the Fall.

For the sake of longevity, I recommend only handwashing this piece.
