Small Lidded Jar

This handmade lidded ceramic jar is as functional as it is beautiful, designed to live openly on a countertop, shelf, or table as part of your everyday home decor.

This piece was fired in a wood fire kiln, with added soda ash, which creates the vibrant colours across the surface of the pot.

Chattering (a technique to add a textured design on the clay surface while trimming) was added to the upper half of the pot and the lid, since wood firings typically highlight any texture on the pot's surface.

It can be used to store cookies and seasonal treats, loose-leaf tea, or to store the small essentials that inevitably tend to gather by the front door—keys, lip balm, spare change, and other daily necessities and clutter you may not want to be visible in your entryway or on a shelf. 

For the sake of longevity, I recommend only handwashing this piece.
